I believe that the spaces we inhabit have a spirit. My work is to help you sense it.

If you are looking for a general contractor to build a standard deck or a landscaper to mow the lawn, I am not the right fit. But if you are looking to transform a corner of your world into a sanctuary that provokes a specific emotion, we should talk.

I operate at the intersection of Environmental Psychology, Design, and Creative Building. I call myself a Creative Bricoleur—a term for one who improvises and creates using the materials at hand, finding value in the unique combination of elements that others might overlook.

I have shaped and remodeled more than 12 houses, built one from scratch, and have enhanced home and garden environments for close to 30 years.

My Philosophy: Animism & Design

I am driven by the concept of Animism—the understanding that objects and materials possess a "life" and influence our well-being. A concrete countertop isn't just a surface; when embedded with recycled Pellegrino glass and polished by hand, it becomes a story. A cast-iron tub in a backyard isn't just plumbing; it is a vessel for reconnecting with nature.

I don’t just build structures; I curate Experience Zones.

  • A walkway designed not just to get you from A to B, but to slow your pace and lower your heart rate.

  • A water feature built from vintage copper and LED light that serves as a focal point for meditation.

  • Patio structures that feel less like "add-ons" and more like organic extensions of the earth.

  • A house remodel that brings out the energy inherent in the structure and the landscape.

The Work: Material Alchemy

I thrive on solving problems by marrying materials that seemingly don’t go together. As an example:

  • Concrete & Glass: Turning heavy industrial material into translucent art.

  • Copper & Light: Creating water features that change personality from day to night.

  • Salvage & Nature: Repurposing cast iron, wood, and stone to create biophilic designs that blur the line between the built environment and the living world.

Teaching: Creativity in the Age of AI

Beyond the physical build, I am deeply invested in the human mind. As Artificial Intelligence begins to dominate the landscape of logic and efficiency, I believe we must aggressively cultivate our uniquely human traits: tactile creativity, intuition, and emotional resonance.

I write and speak on Human Creativity, helping individuals and groups tap into their innate "inner creator." Through workshops and sessions, I explore how working with our hands and altering our physical environments can unlock new ways of thinking that algorithms simply cannot replicate.
